About

I dipped my feet in the blogosphere with The Glass Bangle. This gave me the confidence to start this book blog which combines my two loves, writing and reading. I am a glutton when it comes to books. My hapless Hubby is completely baffled by the piles of books which form wherever I park myself ! He is a one-book-at-a-time reader, while I’m a book-bigamist, often reading two or three concurrently. Books are my friends and my reading material varies with my moods. I hope each one of you finds something of interest here and keep coming back for more :)

  1. Big smiles from me reading this! I tend to have a novel, an essay collection and a work-related or self improvement book on the go, all at the same time – much to the bafflement of my husband. Do you drop anything when you’re writing? I find when I am working seriously on my own stuff, I leave the fiction on the shelf – it’s just too distracting.
Also, have you ever read or used The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron? As part of that process, there is a week-long reading fast…seriously, you are not supposed to read anything unless you have to for work. I found it excruciatingly tough.

    1. I’m so happy to meet a kindred spirit 🙂
I must confess that I don’t read a lot of non-fiction. And yes, when I’m caught up in something all my poor books languish on the various tables around the house. I usually end up re-reading my favourite books when I’m busy 🙂

    1. Wonderful! Earlier I used to feel guilty while reading two or more books at the same time, almost like committing bigamy 🙂 But some books are so slow that I need to perk myself up before coming back to it !

  2. Ha ha ha…another book-lover! Just dropped in here through Nishita’s blog and I always love reading about books. I am a book-hoarder, book-bigamist and everything books. My husband does not love reading but he has made peace with living around books. Glad I found this blog 🙂

  3. Your reviews are cool! I have recently penned a corporate cum sci-fi novel titled – “Engines of the Mind”. It clearly stands apart from the traditional indian fiction novels. Would you be keen to take a shot at reading it ? I would be happy to send you the synoposis, newspaper and bloggers’ reviews.

    1. Thanks a lot. Glad that you liked my reviews. Sorry, but I’m not a big fan of sic-fi and whenever I come across something technical my mind goes completely blank. All the very best for the success of your book !

  4. Hmmm, I may be making a fool of myself (not an uncommon occurrence), I’ve nominated you for a Liebster Award — which came my way via The Glass Bangle. I don’t think I’ve read your About page before because, gah!, are you The Greedy Reader *and* The Glass Bangle? Well, anyway, I love this blog — go here http://3kids2cats1divorce.com/2013/12/30/award-season-sorta/ if you’d like the lowdown on the award. Happy New Year!

      1. What counts is the passion of that one member 🙂 No point in having lots of members but there’s no dedication and passion. Most importantly, it looks like you are enjoying doing this. So, it’s your gift to your audience – beautiful!

  5. Hi Anjana, you once reviewed my first adult fiction novel, Meanwhile Upriver, set in Varanasi. I don’t know if you remember it clearly, but I think you’d liked it. I was happy to read what you’d written about it 🙂 My second is just out. It is called A Blueprint for Love and published by Bloomsbury. If you’d like to read/ review it, please email me at chaturarao@gmail.com and I’ll ask them to send you a copy. Thank you! 🙂
